Bridgwater Cycling Charter

Getting more people to cycle can make a significant contribution towards tackling many of the problems facing our town – congestion, air pollution, obesity, mental health issues, poor quality of life – whilst also providing an economic stimulus that revitalises Bridgwater and helps it towards a more vibrant future.

The Bridgwater Cycling Charter is a pledge that can be made by individuals or by organisations to supporting cycling in and around Bridgwater.

Cycle Audits

We go out in teams to assess the state of the existing cycle network around Bridgwater.

We then compile our findings into reports that can shape future advice and decisions.

Infrastructure

We are truly passionate about improving the cycle network in Bridgwater. By making it easier for people to get around on bikes, there will be fewer cars on the roads, and all forms of traffic will flow more freely.

Planning

Like all towns and cities in the UK, Bridgwater is expanding. New homes and schools are being built, and it’s vital that people can access these via active travel.

Our role here at BACC is to review all the major planning applications and work with the local authorities to guide them in making sustainable choices.
