Kidical Mass: Empowering Bridgwater’s Future Generation for Safer and Greener Streets!

Get ready, Bridgwater residents! We have an extraordinary movement coming your way that aims to transform our streets into safe havens for children and promote sustainable mobility. Building on the success of our last two events, it’s time to join forces and pedal together for Kidical Mass, a global initiative that empowers the younger generation and demands child-friendly spaces for play and social interaction!

Embracing the Kidical Mass Movement: Kidical Mass is not just your average bike ride – it’s a powerful worldwide movement that unites cyclists of all ages, from 0 to 99 years old. By reclaiming our road spaces through vibrant and colourful bicycle demonstrations, we are advocating for safer streets and sustainable mobility options for children.

Promoting Safer and Independent Travel: At the core of Kidical Mass is the vision of enabling all children and young people to safely and independently use bicycles as a mode of travel. We firmly believe that every child deserves the freedom to explore their surroundings on two wheels, building confidence and fostering a sense of independence.

Demanding Child-Friendly, Green Spaces: In addition to safe cycling infrastructure, Kidical Mass advocates for the creation of child-friendly, green places where children can freely engage in play and social interaction. We firmly believe in the importance of open spaces that provide opportunities for children of all ages to connect with nature, exercise their imaginations, and strengthen bonds between generations.

Bridgwater’s Kidical Mass Event: Our upcoming Kidical Mass event in Bridgwater is a prime opportunity for families to come together and actively participate in this global movement. Whether your child is just starting their cycling journey or you’re a seasoned cyclist, everyone is invited to join us. The event will take place on Saturday 27th April, starting at 10.30 am. We begin from Blake Gardens and follow a short circular route.

Making a Difference, One Pedal at a Time: By participating in Kidical Mass, you’re actively contributing to the vision of safer streets and child-friendly spaces in Bridgwater. It’s a chance to create a lasting impact on the future of our community and empower our children to confidently navigate their surroundings.

As well as the main event, we will also have On Your Bike carrying out a Dr Bike session. If your bike needs a little TLC, come along and the OYB team will have it running as good as new in no time – free of charge!

What’s more, Avon & Somerset Police will be in attendance to carry out security marking of bikes. They’ll even be joining us on the ride too!

In conclusion, we invite you to join us as we come together to pedal for a cause. Let’s make our streets safer, greener, and more inclusive for our children!
