Bridgwater Active Travel Day

21st May 2022

Bridgwater is holding its first Active Travel Day on 21st May 2022 at Bridgwater Town Hall from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm supported by Bridgwater Area Cycling Campaign, Bridgwater Town Council, and Sedgemoor District Council.

This will be an opportunity to drop in throughout the day to find out more about getting out of our cars and getting moving, reducing our carbon footprint, and enjoying the beautiful countryside that surrounds Bridgwater including information on cycling and walking within the area.

Dr. Bike will be attending, fixing minor repairs, and checking to make bikes safe and roadworthy. The majority of bike ailments can be fixed on the spot, meaning you can attend these events with the knowledge you’ll probably be able to ride away on a bike that feels as good as new.

You will also be able to get your bike security marked and registered by our local PCSO’s

The newly appointed Active Travel Officers from Somerset County Council will be attending and advising how you can put active travel into your everyday life.

Other agencies attending the event include Sustrans, SASP, LifeCycle UK, Somerset Road Safety Partnership, Bus User Group, Disabled Group Rep, Severnside Community Rail Transport as well as representatives from Somerset County Council, Sedgemoor District Council, Bridgwater Town Council and BACC.
