Bridgwater Kidical Mass 2023

Bridgwater Area Cycling Campaign are thrilled to announce the first ever Kidical Mass ride in Bridgwater. Kidical Mass is a global movement that encourages families and people of all ages to come together en masse in a fun protest, to ask for streets that are safer for Everyone.

On Monday 8th May, the Coronation weekend, as part of Global Kidical Mass Action Weekend, you can take part in a short circular route from Blake Gardens, starting at 11am. It should last about 45 minutes, and families are encouraged to stay on for the coronation festivities in Blake Gardens.

A spokesperson from BACC said “Kidical Mass is a fantastic fun way of making a serious point. We used to play in the street as kids, but would you let your kids play in the streets today? We’re not anti-car by any means, but in recent decades our towns and cities have become too car-centric, without enough safe spaces for walking, scooting, playing and cycling. Kidical Mass will highlight the joys of family cycling as well as drawing attention to the lack of safe provision.”

Fancy dress on a royal theme is encouraged, as well as flags, balloons, bells, whistles, streamers… you get the idea! Join BACC for a fun time and make a statement too!
